Red Fish Lake

Every year since I was about 10, my family has gone to Red Fish Lake during the summer.  There has been a couple of year only that we have actually gone somewhere else, however, we somehow managed to still call it our "Red Fish Lake Trip." :) 

Each year we are getting larger in number and each year it seem we bring more stuff!  But each year is so much fun!  It is a great time to be together without all the other aspects of life getting in the way.

Casey and I have been married for 12 years . . . which means we have been cooking a meal at Red Fish for 12 years together.  This year we cooked for about 50 people.  And everything went so smoothly!  We had it down to an art!  We cooked about 5 different things all in a dutch oven and it was yummy.  I said to Casey, "well, it only took us 12 years to finally get this cooking-together-thing down!"  In the past, the food was great, but the cooks had quarreled just a bit to get it there ;)

This is Lillian cruising down a little hill in our camp site.  ALL the kids would ride their bikes up and coast on down.  The older kids would do it on their rip-sticks. And yes, this would start about 7 am in the morning :)

James absolutely loved getting rides on the jet ski.  He would drag his Casey or I out to it saying "ride!"

We took a hike this year to Lady Face Falls.  The weather was absolutely perfect for a hike.  A little overcast and even sprinkled rain on us at the top.  Then when we were back at camp the sun was out and we were ready for the lake:)

I love this picture of the girls on the hike.  It captures how grown-up they are feeling lately.  Their shades on, walkie-talkies, no parents. . . oh, so cool!

James actually did walk a lot of the hike on the way up, but on the way down. . . . he fell asleep on Dad and was carried :)
