Fun times

I have been bad at posting for a while and missed posting about some fun things we have done. Here is one of those things.

Since we did not finish our basement when we moved in, there had to be a door at the bottom of our stairs which also created a few walls where we did not want walls. We wanted to open up the stair way wall and not have it all closed in with a door.

So, to start finishing our basement we had to knock out a few unwanted walls. We took an opportunity to do this on Monday night for FHE....why not have an object lesson, right? So we talked about things that are a firm foundation (the Savior, scriptures, testimonies, ect.). Then we had the girls push on the wall that was still firm and immovable.

Then we talked about things that are not a stable in our lives (clothes, toys, movies, ect.) and how these things can easily be "moved." Then we had the girls push down the wall that we had prepared to come down. (The second picture).

The girls really had fun being allowed to be destructive and actually take down a whole wall! It was a memorable family night!

Now we have had our basement sheet rocked and almost ready to be textured .... wahoo!!!!
